Etiquette and Table Manners

  • Allergies? Let us know!

Please let us know all allergies you or members of your party may have when making reservations.

  • Please Arrive Early

We serve guests all at the same time, and punctuality is the key to our ability to provide great service to all. Please try to arrive early at the restaurant, preferably about 10 minutes before your reservation.

  • Our Hinoki Counter

Our hinoki counter is sacred to our restaurant. We are extremely fortunate to be able to have a counter of this quality and size, which makes it rare and truly one of a kind. Please refrain from putting hard or sharp objects such as keys that could damage the surface. Please try to keep your belongings such as your wallet and phone in your pocket or bag.

  • Eat While Fresh

We all love taking photos of our food (our eyes/phones eat first), but please try to enjoy your food immediately after being served. Omakase is served at a counter to ensure guests can eat the food immediately after it leaves the Chef’s hands!

  • Dress Policy

Smart casual is our dress policy; there is no requirement to dress formal, however, please avoid tank tops/flip flops/beachwear.

  • Ginger

Pickled ginger, or gari, will be served on a ramekin in front of you. The gari is meant to cleanse your palate between dishes.

  • No Perfume

The cuisine that we serve is often delicate and refined, and we want you to enjoy every bite we prepare. For this reason, we ask that you refrain from using perfume or cologne with strong scents as it may affect the way you or others enjoy our food.

  • Soft Voices

Please refrain from speaking on your cell phone during your meal, as our intimate space is shared with a small group of guests each meal. For urgent matters, please feel free to step out of the restaurant to make a phone call.

  • Soy Sauce

The Chef will generally inform you which toppings and sauces go for the dish you are served. The nigiri we serve will come prepared with soy or other toppings/sauces so there is no need for additional sauce. If you’re not sure of how to enjoy something, please feel free to ask our Chef!

  • What should I use?

For appetizers and cooked dishes, please use chopsticks or silverware. For Nigiri and other sushi, you can either use your hands or chopsticks- whichever make you feel more comfortable! The most important thing is that you eat Nigiri immediately upon being served in one delicious bite!

  • Wet Towels

You will be given an oshibori hot towel when you take your seat. We will also provide a finger towel when we begin serving nigiri- please feel free to wipe your fingers between pieces.
